The TRAINING UNIT of the National Library was formed in the year 2001.
The TRAINING UNIT deals in the training of all librarians in Maldives, Male’ + the Islands included.

Our clients are:-

Work experience students

Government office librarians Special Libraries School Librarians Island Librarians

Assisting opening libraries Giving out information in Library Science and providing reference materials

The training programme include:

* Introduction to Libraries
* Book shelving
* Accessioning
* Classification
* Cataloguing
* Processing
* Mending
* Counter work
* Customer care
