On 7 th March 2002 the Gender and development section was opened on the occasion of International Women’s day. This collection has books and reports which cover a wide scale of issues related to women in society. These include information on subjects like discrimination, accountability, feminism. Some of the information resources also focus on South Asia and Maldives. In total the collection has 259 books.
