  Customer Care Unit        
 

Providing information to the customers:
This would include coping with the customer and providing the information needed by the customer as effectively and efficiently.

Arranging the book collection:
The book collection is arranged in an orderly manner, so as the books can be brought about easily.

Looking after the books:
This means taking care while handling the books.

Managing the sections:
This means looking after the sections, so as to prevent theft or vandalism.

Issuing and Returning the documents:
Books can be borrowed (2 books per time) from the library for as long as 2 weeks.

Maintaining the overdue:
Books that are exceeding the return date is identified and brought about in the form of a list and handled out to the budget section.

Providing internet service:
Free 15 minutes of internet is provided to the members of the National Library per day.

Processing of books:
Books that are newly brought to the library is catalogued, classified and entered by the Technical Unit and then brought to the operational unit for processing. Processing would include making of spine labels and putting dust covers on the books.

Preparing and Mending of books:
This includes fixing and re-processing of damaged books.

Providing and updating of project files:
This is done in collaboration with CAS and SDI Department.

Public relation activities:
In case of problems occurred while dealing with customer, notifying the people in charge.

Maintaining and updating of daily statistics:
 number of books issued
 number of members using Internet
 number of photocopies taken;
  All these information are daily, monthly and yearly maintained and updated.

Managing the part-time staffs:
Making the duty tables and looking after their attendance.

Occasions and ceremonies:
Preparing and participating in events held by the National Library
